Mulberry Mania

My Mulberry addiction is not dying down at all, no, in fact, quite the opposite. I really do not know how Mulberry manages to captivate me so – I never seem to tire of Mulberry at all. To me Mulberry is timeless, and fresh in a classic manner. There is something about Mulberry that gets me in a complete frenzy. When I see a Mulberry bag I smile, in fact I think Mulberry spotting is my favourite sport – much to the irritation of my friends (it’s easy in London, not so much here!).

My first Mulberry purchase was my iPad case, now I have three Mulberry bags; a scotch grain large clipper, an Elkington brief case, and a Seth messenger, as well as a Mulberry wallet, a Mulberry iPhone case, the Mulberry book, and now my collection is expanding even more…

The Mulberry concession in Harvey Nichols Birmingham were celebrating Harvey Nichols Birmingham’s 10th Birthday (I will cover the store’s birthday in a different post – but one word: incredible) Saturday. Naturally I ended up buying something (I’ll come to that in a moment)…

Mulberry photobooth at Mulberry Harvey Nichols Birmingham

They even had a Mulberry photobooth. I did not have a go though as I was not feeling very attractive – I need to catch up on some beauty sleep (he says typing away at ridiculous A.M.)!! However as you can see I snapped a photograph of the booth itself for you on my iPhone.

Mulberry Autumn Winter 2011 canvas tote bag
Back of Mulberry Autumn Winter 2011 canvas tote bag

I was given a Mulberry Autumn Winter 2011 promotional canvas totebag, it reminds me of the one I received at London Fashion Week:

Mulberry fox mask
Me wearing Mulberry fox mask

Mulberry are known for being a playful brand, and they often provide masks, and such featuring their current season’s themes/motifs. In the Autumn Winter 2011 tote bag was a fox mask. Sadly I do not make for a ‘cute’ fox, no I look rather evil, and scary ha! Ah well. I also have some Elemis spa@home samples to try which were in the bag:

Elemis spa@home

Mulberry Autumn Winter 2011 stickers
Moleskine covered in Mulberry stickers

There were also Mulberry stickers in the bag – which are ridiculously loveable. Last time I had some Mulberry stickers I found them to be quite amusing (a Mulberry sheep?!), I put some of them on the cover of one of my Moleskines as you can see.

Now on to my recent, and not so recent Mulberry purchases I haven’t shared with you yet…

Mulberry gold frog pin
Mulberry frog pin

So I finally got the frog pin I wanted, it is only even more adorable in person. I absolutely love it, and it looks perfect pinned on the lapel of my blazer. It is playful looking, and just adds a quirky finishing touch to an outfit. It is smaller than I initially thought it would be, but I have come to the realisation I would not really want it any bigger.

Mulberry keyring

Despite already having a Paul Smith keyring my keys felt incomplete without a touch of Mulberry; so now I have a Mulberry keyring too (greedy I know). It is in the natural oak so that it matches my bags, and other leather Mulberry accessories. I enjoy little inexpensive trinkets like this; they make designer brands accessible – anyone could have a little bit of Mulberry in their life if they wanted.

Mulberry cufflinks
Mulberry oval cufflinks

I think I have said before that a man can never have too many shirts; well naturally the same goes for cufflinks. I found myself drawn to this oval pair for their sheer simplicity – they are plain, but pleasant. They look good on a cuff without drawing too much attention, or being too much (although they are a nightmare to photograph ha!).

Mulberry black leather belt

My faithful Marks & Spencers belt that I have used for years fell apart so I was in the market for a new black belt – fortunately I found this great black leather Mulberry one to replace it with. I like how it is a lot subtler than a lot of designer belts on the market right now.

Mulberry Jacquard logo scarf

When I saw this merino cashmere scarf in Harvey Nichols Birmingham I had to have it. It is so so soft, and great to wrap myself in when it gets chilly. I like the colouring, and the check pattern on the other side. It was made in Scotland, and is 10% cashmere. I wore this to the Harvey Nichols 10th party, so you will probably see A LOT of photographs of this scarf.

So what do you think? Is there a brand you follow that you cannot get enough of? Let me know.

Miansai

It is the latest thing that started adorning wrists across the world this summer, and I can see why – it’s easy to get hooked on Miansai (quite literally). It is spot on with the work ready trend that is around right now, and sure to see you into Autumn.

Miansai is a unique hand made jewellery line that has a vintage heritage aesthetic with an air of history. His selvadge designs utilise unusual touches such as silver hooks, or metal bars with leather, and rope. The name Miansai comes from it’s creators name; Michael Andrew Saiger – using various letters at the start of each of his names.

Miansai hook bracelet

I got a leather Miansai bracelet with a silver hook – the silver is hook is made from reconditioned silver. All of the jewellery by Miansai is made in America. I love how unusual the hook looks on the wrist, and the contrast between the hook, and the natural looking leather strap. I really like the over all rustic look that it creates.

My leather hook Miansai bracelet

Michael Saiger became inspired to use the hook after a weekend trip to Florida Keys, and watching the local fishermen with their catch – some of the fish still had hooks in them. From this little spark Saiger has produced a sensational jewellery line channelling the rugged out door appeal aimed at men. He was also inspired by his travels, and his love of historical curiosities, and relics.

Miansai rope hook bracelet

Perhaps his most known bracelets are the rope, and hook (as above) available in a plethora of colours – however I love the leather one personally. You can buy his bracelets from the likes of Oki-Ni, Mr Porter, or the official Miansai online shop (if you are in America).

The Catch Up

It is that time again that I find myself apologising for not blogging sooner. I have had a tough week; someone dear to me died, and if I am honest the last thing I wanted to do was blog – so please forgive me on that…

Birthday chocolate champagne bottle

I did not really cover much of my birthday on here (as I briefly mentioned: champagne carnage sums it up really), when I am not in my Polo Ralph Lauren pyjama bottoms (lazy Sunday) I will take a photograph of my birthday shirt (every year I get/buy a new shirt to wear out for my birthday) to show you. Until then here is a sneak peak:

Burberry Prorsum Birthday shirt

Nothing like celebrating one’s birthday in a spot of Burberry Prorsum eh? ;) . I will take a proper picture sometime, and post it for you to see.

I have a busy week next week, however there are two things I am predominantly looking forward to; the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards Reveal Party in London (thank you to everyone who voted for me – I really appreciate it!), and of course Harvey Nichols Birmingham’s 10th Birthday Party (which I would not miss for the world!).

Harvey Nichols Birmingham 10 years invitation

As per usual Harvey Nichols Birmingham’s invitations are elaborate, glossy, and spot on. From what I have heard and my previous experience at Harvey Nichols parties; it is going to be one hell of a lot of fun – I am looking forward to it. I am also looking forward to catching up with several friends in attendance, and of course meeting new people – do say hi!

This weekend I finally sorted what I am going to wear, no doubt pictures will follow… The best thing about these two events is that I get to debut my Lanvin flower pin:

Lanvin box

Lanvin flower pin

Lanvin flower pin on lapel

Isn’t it just lovely? I have wanted to wear it for quite a while, but the right occasion has not cropped up until now. I did not want to just wear it just any old time, now I have two occasions in one week – perfect. Like it? Then don’t forget you can still buy yourself one from http://www.matchesfashion.com/ – they have a few different ones to choose from.

The Boy Behind The Blog

A lot of people ask me what else is there to me other than my interest in fashion? A difficult one really, sometimes not much – as my interest in fashion takes up a lot of my time, and my life. However I can assure you that I am indeed a person, and there is more to me than just Mulberry bags, and Tom Ford sunglasses. So I am going to take some time out to tell you more about me; despite what a lot of people may think I am a person, definitely not incredible, or very interesting – but I am a human being which a lot of people seem to forget, or simply choose to overlook.

I often get accused of being aloof, or generally illusive. That is partially right however I have my reasoning. I have mentioned before in other blog posts how I am very much a believer in the Victorian concept which is the public, and private face. What I share publicly is very much different to what I would share privately. When you put yourself out there online you are putting yourself at risk, and under scrutiny, and that is why I choose to be impersonally personal instead (if that makes sense). I bite my tongue, hold back, write vague cryptic sentences, and hit backspace a lot – which is probably for the best as a lot of my waffling would not be appropriate, interesting, or the kind of thing I would want the whole world to know. As a rule of thumb I would not put anything on here I would not want my parent’s reading; which is probably a good job seeing as my parent’s do read my blog now (much to my annoyance sometimes; however I thank them for their support, putting up with my pseudo mad antics, and Mulberry ramblings).

I may at times appear to have tough skin, but I am just as insecure as everyone else (if not more so) – I worry about my hair, my eyes (too small!), my skin, my smile (getting my teeth whitened again this weekend hopefully, not that they have ever looked yellow; I’m just getting a complex), my general appearance, and all the other aesthetically related things that anyone else does. If you are going to leave negative anonymous comments I may brush it off, and be the bigger man; but deep down it does hurt me. I never get that upset anymore, I admittedly have cried before over such nonsense but now I pity anyone who has to go to such lows for their own sick amusement, and gratification. Just because I do not talk openly about my insecurities does not mean I do not have them, or that I am absolutely in love with how I look – because I am not.

Lorien Adey

So now we have established that I am indeed a human being even if I may not always act it, let’s establish a few basic facts. My name is Lorien – yes that is my real name much to a lot of disbelief, it’s not a pseudonym – I am genuinely called Lorien. Much to my amusement a lot of my friends call me ‘The Lorien’, and much to my dismay some choose to call me L’Oreal… however I suppose I am worth it, right (or at least that’s what I tell myself)?

I live in the countryside of West Worcestershire which can only really be described as picturesque. I tend to spend many of my weekends in Birmingham, or London – because we all know I am a city boy at heart. I love cities; probably because I live in a village… I enjoy the buzz, the people watching, the socialising, the wining, and dining, and the general atmosphere of something that is alive. I particularly adore spending time with my friends – although coffee tends to lead to cocktails, champagne, and debauched nights on the town (what can I say, I do not drink often, but when I drink I certainly drink). Contrary to popular belief I do not spend all my time drinking, whilst I do adore drinking with decent company I do not even drink every week, or during the week at all unless it’s a special occasion.

When I get the chance I love to read, in fact I often wake up cuddling my Kindle where I have fallen asleep reading into the early hours. I am particularly fond of classic literature, and modern classical American literature. When I was younger I struggled to learn to read, then I went from not reading at all to reading The Lord of The Rings – this changed my life. It was a turning point, and since I have always have the thirst for a great book. I really cannot comprehend people who do not read at all; it makes me think what a waste. I love how books test my emotional capacity, and make me feel – a sign of a good book to me is one where you feel betrayed because you have finished it. To me reading is knowledge, and knowledge is power. I salute the likes of Bret Easton Ellis, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Edith Wharton who have kept me amused for hours.

I have never been massively popular, mainly because I am opinionated, I have strong interests, and I speak my mind. The cliche of Marmite has been applied to me before, however it’s true; people either tend to love me, or hate me – I am an acquired taste. I do not expect everyone to get on with me, because I know I do not get on with everyone. I am an easy going guy, and no where near as intimidating as people make me out to be. I do not tend to take issue with anyone else unless they take issue with me – I am a big advocate of common courtesy. I spent a lot of my time wanting everyone to like me, however since then I have realised that I would rather have a few people respect me than many that like me. There is more to life than popularity, and I would hands down any day rather a few incredible select friends than lots of mediocre friends.

I guess what I am failing to get at is that there is a lot more to me, I can be personal – but I am going to stop now because I have proved myself enough when I should not have to justify myself to anyone. I could share more of my interests, and personal information – but I will not because at the end of the day I am not here to make you love me (bonus points to you if you do). I really do appreciate that people read, and enjoy my blog, to the minority that do not; well don’t read it then. I am not just a ‘ditz’ who sips champagne, and shops in Harvey Nichols. If you want to get to know me do, if not well judge me all you want – because regardless I do not intend to change for any one any time soon ;-) . Bisou, bisou!

Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2011

I was fortunate enough to be shortlisted in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2011. Which for me is a kind of big deal, and I do not get excited easily (okay maybe by Mulberry, but that’s not the point!).

I would really appreciate if you would please vote for me as it is a great honour, and would mean a lot to me. I don’t imagine I will win, but at least I can say I tried right?

Voting is simple. Simply click this url: http://www.cosmopolitan.co.uk/blog-awards-2011-vote/. You then need to enter your e-mail address; they will not send you spam so I would not worry. I am in the last category Male Blog, you hover over Lorien.me, and click Vote now (a green tick will appear) – you then go through to the next page to confirm your vote.

I sincerely appreciate any votes I get, so thank you!

The Man Clutch

I must apologise for being rather quiet. I have been rather busy celebrating my birthday (which could only be described as messy champagne carnage), and work sadly (designer goodies don’t pay for themselves). I also have the post birthdays blues, oh, and the god forsaken hangover lasted long enough (sambuca bomb anyone?!) – but that was entirely expected, and entirely worth it. So yes I am another year older, another year wiser, and all that.

So I want to discuss something which you must have noticed lately, and that is the man clutch. It’s always something that pops up every once in a while, usually it is left to the catwalk, or to those who attend fashion weeks, however more, and more brands are engaging with the man clutch. This time it’s actually here to make a lasting impression.

Guy, let’s face it, it’s about time we can steal something from our girlfriend’s wardrobes (well there was that guyliner trend, but thank goodness that died out – not a thing). It’s all about the clutch, and particularly the envelope clutch – however do not rule out the wristlet. Whether you steal your girlfriend’s favourite clutch, opt for a more masculine document holder, or one of the specifically designed men’s clutches out now, you’d be a fool not to give it a try.

I am personally a fan it reminds me of an old black leather travel wallet I used to use. I like clutching things, and keeping my arms/hands busy. I appreciate they are not for everyone, but I thought I would share with you a few of my picks:

- Clutches to splurge on

The Man Clutch; ones to splurge on

Christopher Kane – £550 at http://www.matchesfashion.com/

The Christopher Kane one is incredible right? Michael of http://anastasia-duck.blogspot.com/ has one which he used on Menswear day of London Fashion Week.

Smythson – £525 at http://www.smythson.com/

The Smythson one is a classic document folio, however I’m sure you could squeeze your phones, and a few other things in there.

Lanvin – £300 at http://www.lanvin.com/

I love the Lanvin one combining the trend of metallics, and python print – great combination.

Mulberry – £270 at http://www.mulberry.com/

The Mulberry one is actually an iPad sleeve, but with clutches anything goes – do not be afraid to experiment with different bags.

Alison Dunlop – £300 at http://www.farfetch.com/

The detailing on the Alison Dunlop clutch is exquisite, I love the intricate pattern around the sides.

Balenciaga – £335 at http://www.balenciaga.co.uk/

I full on love the Balenciaga one – however I do have a bit of a weakness for Balenciaga. I love the colouring, and the way it has a zip pocket as well as a zip opening at the top.

Lanvin – £495 at http://www.lanvin.com/

The second Lanvin one is your classic envelope clutch, I love the colouring, and quality of the leather.

- Clutches to save money on

The Man Clutch; ones to save money on

ASOS – £12 at http://www.asos.com/

The ASOS one is an absolute steal, they offer it in quite a few colour combinations. I love how it encompasses colour blocking too.

Gucci – £180 at http://www.mrporter.com/

The Gucci one is actually a wash bag, but when it comes to clutches anything goes – be innovative.

Topshop – £28 at http://www.topshop.com/

The Topshop one is faux pony skin, it’s very winter luxe – man up, and ignore that it is from Topshop because it’s a great clutch at a great price.

Zara – £29.99 at http://www.zara.com/

I am really tempted by the Zara man clutch it’s a great price, and you cannot go wrong with a spot of black simplicity.

Calabrese – £39 at http://www.farfetch.com/

The Calabrese one is another wash bag, but remember no-one has to know ;) .

Common Projects – £149 at http://www.farfetch.com/

I simply adore the vivacious nature of the Common Projects clutch, although it is also available in black. It reminds me of those Comme des Garçons wallets!

Paul Smith – £95 at http://www.mrporter.com/

Yet another wash bag. I used my Paul Smith Mini series wash bag on the beach, remember it’s all about versatility.

…so what do we think on the man clutch? Will you be trying one, or not?

I’ve got some new shoes on

Shoes

As Paolo Nutini once sung, ‘I’ve got some new shoes on, and suddenly every things right’. There is something about new shoes that just gives you a little spring to your step, or that little bit of extra added confidence. One of the first things I notice about a person is their footwear, I think your footwear choice says a lot about you – in this respect I am conscientious of my footwear in certain circumstances to make the right impression.

Always wear expensive shoes. People notice.

- Brian Koslow

It is a well known clichéd quote that you can never have too many pairs of shoes, whilst I always think quality over quantity I do not think the quote is far off. Everyone has a favourite pair of shoes, or a pair just right for this, or that occasion – sometimes even a pair we dare not to wear but we treasure more as a piece of art that we are scared to ruin.

I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes, I had one thousand and sixty.

- Imelda Marcos

Footwear is an essential item of every day life, well for most normal people anyway. I think footwear is often something we generally neglect, I know I did personally for quite a while. However in the past few weeks I have amassed quite a few new pairs which I thought I’d share some of them with you:

  • Randal patent leather lace ups from KG by Kurt Geiger
  • Randal from KG by Kurt Geiger

Randal from KG by Kurt Geiger

I bought this patent pair today from Kurt Geiger in their sale. They are part of the KG by Kurt Geiger range, and called ‘Randal’. As you’ve gathered, or should have I have an absolute weakness for patent shoes, and this inexpensive pair (at full price they were only £90 – sale a lot less) is a great addition to my collection. By having shoes I can alternate my shoes will last longer. Already smudged by my darling fingers as you can see… I love Kurt Geiger shoes, my only issue with the brand is that you generally have to go a size down with shoes (they do not tell you that).

  • Palladian velvet loafers from Kurt Geiger London
  • Palladian from Kurt Geiger London

    Palladian from Kurt Geiger London

I mentioned this pair on my blog before, they are from Kurt Geiger’s premium range; Kurt Geiger London. When I saw these beautiful velvet loafers in the richest midnight blue shade it was love at first sight. After struggling to get a hold of any locally I came across a pair in Harrods whilst I was in London for London Fashion Week. The rest is history, it was destiny. They are certainly not every day shoes, but I really love them – I cannot wait for an occasion to properly wear them.

  • Gucci suede moccasin
  • Gucci brown suede moccasins

    Gucci brown suede moccasin

I have wanted pair of Gucci moccasins for a long time now. This pair I bought as an early birthday present to myself (really dragging it out, I know, I know). Once I tried them on I couldn’t resist any longer, I had to have them – before I knew it I was at a till with my debit card out (I must learn restraint). However I am pleased I finally got a pair, I have coveted Gucci moccasins for a long time now. I love the classic brown suede, and the horse bit – plus they are really comfortable (which is a plus not a requisite ;) ).

  • Kenneth Cole Mr Right Derby patent lace ups
  • Mr. Right Derby Kenneth Cole patent shoes

Mr. Right Derby Kenneth Cole patent shoes

This is the pair I showed you before on my blog which my Father bought me as an early birthday present (I won’t have anything on my birthday at this rate ha!) as I wanted them to wear for London Fashion Week. They are excellent quality patent shoes – I can tell they are going to last a long time. There is something about these shoes, when I wear them I feel powerful, and ready to face anything.

  • Polo Ralph Lauren Zale Oxford canvas pumps
  • Polo Ralph Lauren Zale Oxford canvas pumps

Polo Ralph Lauren Zale Oxford canvas pumps

Sadly I cannot wear ridiculous shoes every day for every situation; trust me I have tried. I bought these as a more casual alternate for times when casual shoes are more appropriate. Polo Ralph Lauren really seem to be pushing their casual shoes at the moment, and there are some nice options in their range. I like that they still look relatively smart. The leather laces, trim, and touches are a big plus for me; they make it more dynamic than your every day casual shoes. They were also inexpensive for a pair of shoes, and came in a variety of colours (well worth looking at).

…now if only I had Harrod’s shoe hall as my shoe wardrobe for daily use. Watch this space, I am intent on expanding my collection ;) .

    The Patent Shoe Edit

I am a big believer in patent shoes. I wear patent shoes most days, I personally do not see why patent shoes should be reserved for formal occasions, and black tie. I like to add a spot of lustre to my every day life. I am known for as those close to me call them; ‘my shiny shoes’. Ridiculous at times (particularly in the snow – but I survived!) quite possibly, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. There is something about a bit of shine that brightens my day, and adds a touch of elegance to any outfit. Be it lace ups, or loafers, it’s all about patent leather, and patent finishes. One prerequisite; they have to be black.

Here are some of my favourite patents out there right now. I have tried to include a selection of different brands, tastes, and affordability. Hope you like it, and that perhaps it comes in handy. So here we go from your classic patent lace ups to patent loafers with a twist:

    The Patent Shoe Edit

    one: Dior Homme at http://www.farfetch.com/ – £454
    two: Vivienne Westwood at http://www.harveynichols.com/ – £140
    three: Mr. Hare at http://www.mrporter.com/ – £500
    four: D&G at http://www.my-wardrobe.com/ – £290
    five: Ted Baker at http://www.tedbaker.com/ – £170
six: KG by Kurt Geiger at http://www.johnlewis.com/ – £110
    seven: Dune at Dune http://www.dune.co.uk/ – £85
    eight: Marc Hare at http://www.topman.com/ – £90
    nine: Salvatore Ferragamo at http://www.harrods.com/ – £300

I am having an affaire de coeur with pair three, the Mr. Hare’s; the perfect patent loafers with a grosgrain bow – very glamourous. They would add an instant luxe to an outfit, and I really like the adornment of a bow on them – it only adds to the shoe itself.

I own pair six, and can only fully recommend them. I have many fond memories of, and in Kurt Geiger’s Antons – one of my favourite pairs of shoes. Just be aware with Kurt Geigers that they tend to run a size bigger, so size down. It is a really long lasting pair.

I chose pair two simply for their quirkiness, they are from Vivienne Westwood’s new range of men’s shoes which are actually plastic. Don’t let this put you off, they are inexpensive statement shoes with great flare which would really work with some sharp tailoring.

    The Mulberry Seth

So yes it’s Monday, and once again I am talking about Mulberry. I did once say every Monday should be a Mulberry Monday, and I really do wish it were so – it would really make Monday a lot more bearable. In fact it would make Monday my favourite day of the week.

It is my birthday this week, on Sunday to be specific (make sure you send your cards, and gifts in time now won’t you?). My darling Mother gave me some money to buy myself a birthday present from her. So thank you Mumsy, you bought my latest Mulberry treat!

I chose a Mulberry Seth bag in the natural oak quelle surprise – it’s all about the natural oak. So you are probably thinking another Mulberry bag?! Well that’s what my Mother said anyway ha. I just wanted a more every day bag, and as much as I love my Mulberry Elkington I don’t want to wear it out. Besides I don’t think you can ever have too many bags right?

    Mulberry Seth

As you can see it is a classic cross body Mulberry bag with an external pouch pocket which has a postman lock closure.

    Mulberry Seth Postman Lock

Mulberry Seth front pocket Postman Lock

    Mulberry Seth front pocket inside

The front pouch/pocket has the classic Mulberry postman lock, when you unlock it, and open it up the flap is brushed leather, and the inside is brushed leather, and leather. It is quite deep, but does not have that big of a width – however it is perfect for your phones, lip balm, keys, or other miscellaneous small items.

Back of my Mulberry Seth bag

The back of the Mulberry Seth is plain with stitching visible from the Mulberry tag on the inside.

    Mulberry Seth inside

The inside is brushed leather, and like most Mulberry bags has a Mulberry tag, and plaque with a serial number on the back of it. Despite the bag being narrow it is quite deep, and thus quite spacious. I can easily fit my iPad, A4 documents, and numerous other things every day essentials inside. You can fit a lot more than you would initially think.

    Top of my Mulberry Seth

    Mulberry hardware

    Mulberry Seth hardware

The opening to the bag is a simple zip across the top. The Mulberry Seth features the Mulberry brass hardware which I am a big fan of, I feel it only compliments the leather, and adds to the over all appeal.

…what do you think? I know I love it.

    James Long LFW SS12

As I walked out of my penultimate show of the day I heard someone say, ‘James Long has done it again’, and I could not agree more! Out of the shows I attended at London Fashion Week James Long’s Spring Summer 2012 show was by far my absolute favourite. As soon as Brian Eno’s Baby’s on Fire started playing I knew I was in for a treat, and I certainly was not let down.

James Long Spring Summer 2012 London Fashion Week

Slicked back hair, sunglasses on; the models looked effortless as they marched down the catwalk in an exotic daze. James Long’s Spring Summer collection was without a doubt beautiful. It was a treat for the eyes; decidedly luxe with infusions of metallic, and snakeskin dowsed down with sequins, and leather.

James Long Spring Summer 2012 London Fashion Week

James Long Spring Summer 2012 London Fashion Week

The mix somehow resulting in an exotic sight that is both very appealing, and very directional; yet still very wearable. Tailored shorts, leather trousers matched with loose knits, and glitzy luxe jackets. A lot of texture, a lot of pattern and a lot of contrast. The mix of patterns seemed to work well, it did not look forced – it looked just right.

James Long Spring Summer 2012 London Fashion Week

There are so many pieces I would genuinely wear. The pièce de résistance of the collection though had to be the jacket at the end. Patched with foil copper, gold, snake skin – all infused together to create quite possibly one of the insanest jackets ever, but also quite possibly one of the best biker jackets of all time. Haute couture at it’s best.

So yes baby is certainly on fire, and baby has one hell of a Midas touch!
