Many apologies for the lack of updates of late, I have been très busy and a little all over the place (in the best possible way). I spent last weekend in Madrid – nothing beats a last minute city break right? I am a little in love with Madrid as a city (helps it has a Sephora 
), it was my first time despite the fact I have been to Spain countless times. So I thought I would share with you some photographs I took:
The city has such an atmosphere whether you’re rushing along the Gran Vía, having cocktails at the ME Hotel rooftop bar, devouring tapas in front of Almudena Cathedral, shopping at boutiques in Serrano or walking leisurely through Retiro Park. Madrid is so architecturally beautiful and full of culture. I want to go back already! Although next time I do not think I will go out the night before an early morning flight – running around an airport laden with bags with minutes to spare is not so glamourous…

Lovely read Lorien, I too love Madrid although I’ll admit the first time I went I didn’t really ‘get’ it; I’d always been to Barcelona/Catalunya and found the much more frenetic Madrilleno way of life quite overwhelming. But after multiple repeat visits I now love them equally for, not in spite of, their differences!

At first it was a bit of a change for me. I tend to opt for more coastal places – you know me I love to unwind by lounging on some hot sultry beach however without meaning to I fell in love with Madrid.

Went to Madrid for the first time I can remember this year. I liked it, but didn’t love it. I think I prefer more rural parts of Spain, or the Moorish south. I also cannot travel without finding the nearest Sephora…
