Patent Perfection
Mae West once said a man’s kiss is his signature, some people say a man’s fragrance is his signature, but I do not like to limit myself to just one signature. One of my particular signatures is my patent shoes. I own more pairs of patent shoes than any other type, and I am known for my “ridiculous shiny shoes” (particularly in impractical situations; snow, ice, mud you name it…).
From my Kenneth Cole lace ups to my Zara loafers I adore my patent shoes. A man can never have too many pairs of patent shoes in my opinion. Due to the nature of patent I find patent cracks easily with over wear (there’s a reason more people don’t wear patent shoes every day!), and thus I like to have a variety of pairs to alternate so that they last longer.

I picked up another pair of patent lace ups over the weekend to add to my collection whilst I was shopping in Chelsea (I love a spot of “The” King’s Road). After seeing them in Peter Jones I could not resist, and what an absolutely bargain they were (they were reduced to £25.50 from £90).

They are by Dune, and I cannot believe what a bargain they were. Handcrafted, and great quality they are a welcome addition to my collection, and no doubt I will get lots of wear out of them.
This entry is short, but sweet as I am rather tired after a great spontaneous weekend in London (thank you to old faces, and new faces involved!). I had a super time what with lunches in Chelsea, champagne bar visits, the usual Knightsbridge Harrods, and Harvey Nichs frolics, gorging myself on macaroons, and catching up with old friends. I leave you with an iPhone snap of my friend Holly, and I in Searcy’s Champagne Bar at Paddington:

I like patent leather shoes. I remember I used to not care for patent flats.. I had one pair and never wore them, but now most my flats are patent. Funny.
Funny how tastes change over time eh?
And how many pairs of shoes do you have in total?
